Meural App won’t complete login

The latest Meural App for iOS (7.0.0) will not complete the login process. It takes my email and password, sends a one time code, and then hangs with the spinning circles after the code is entered. We’ve tried it on two iPhones and two iPads. We have deleted the app and reinstalled it. Always fails the same way. Has anyone gotten it to work? I’m really not sure what they think they are protecting us from by using the one time code texted or emailed to us. Some evil doer who has my email, password, and is connected to my home network? Seems dumb.

  • Just spoke with Negear level 2 support and have a solution that worked for me and may work for other people. Try this:

    login to my.netgear.com (not my.meural).
Click on the person figure at the top right and select “Manage Profile”
Then pick the “Edit Profile” section
If your “Choose Country” is blank, set it to your correct country.
Click “Save” at the bottom and go try to login to the app again

The support person says this is a known issue that affects all of Netgear’s apps since they added the new one-time code security check to them. Also, setting the country has fixed it for some but not all users.

We didn’t try this because Netgear support wanted the data from the Choose Country test but I bet it will also work if you turn off Two-Step Verification which can be done like this:
    login to my.netgear.com (not my.meural).
Click on the person figure at the top right and select “Manage Profile”
Then pick the “Login Setting” option
    Then pick “Two-Step Verification”
Then uncheck “Enable” and click “Disable” in the pop-up box that appears (if you don’t have pop-ups disabled in your browser settings)

    Good luck.

Tried deleting the app,  changing my password on my.meural.com, and reinstalling the app. Looked promising for a second when the app asked if I wanted to enable FaceID but it still hangs with spinning circles after entering the one-time code. Closed the app and restaretd it to see if it would use FaceID but it still wanted an email, password, and one-time code and still hung after the one-time code was entered.

FYI: I used an iPhone 15 Max with iOS 18.2.1 (current).

I'm pretty sure it's a bug in the app (7.0.0) and not a user configuration issue.

I've had the same problem ever since they "upgraded" the iOS app to version 7.0.0. I didn't find this topic when I first looked so I have a duplicate thread opened with the title "Meural App won’t complete login".

Apparently, they don't believe they have a bug since the only advice has been to delete and reinstall the app and change your password on the my.meural.com website. I had already tried removing and reinstalling the app but I tried it again today with the password change and it still fails exactly the same way by hanging with spinning circles after the one-time code is entered.

I tried deleting the App, change my password, then reinstalled the app. Still sticks at the same point after entering credentials.

I tried enabling the two forms of identification. Then when I present my credentials, it sends me the SMS message with a one time code to enter. It accepts that code, but then sticks with the spinning wheel in the center this all started when Meural upgraded the app to 7.0

I experience the same problem and the provided procedure does not help fix the issue. Can you please investigate this as several users are reporting the same problem? This is really a disappointing customer experience.
  • I am having the same problem and have tried all the suggestions. Please help.
