MS80 firmware 1.1.8.20 (Dec 1st 2025) Bricked
Yes the firmware update did not complete on the second satellite. I have done every possible thing to connect with the satellite but it just blinks fast then slow in its never-ending cycle.
Don't do it

Did you perform a 30-30-30 reset on the MS?
How did you attempt to update the MS? Auto update or manually using it's web page with a web browser and ethernet connected PC?

Manually update per page 93 of the manual, Wi-Fi connected PC. Manual does not mention ethernet connection
To manually update your satellite’s firmware:
1. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your
mesh network.- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Can follow this guide as well for manually updating your system:

MS FIRST, then MR lastly.
If your MR is updated prior to the MS, you'll need to downgrade the MR back to what you had on it long enough to get the MS updated FIRST, then update the MR back.

There is an awkward situation with Netgear mesh systems which causes many models to lose communication if the router and satellite are on different firmware releases. This is why the procedure on page 93 of the user manual recommends changing satellite firmware before changing router firmware. i.e., changing the satellite firmware will cause communication to cease but it is "no problem" because in a few minutes the user will change the router firmware and communication will resume. If the current situation is the router and one satellite are on new firmware and the other satellite is on older firmware, then it will not communicate with the router. Thus, the process on Page 93 cannot function.
One potential solution is this:
- Connect the MS80 satellite to a computer using Ethernet. Both devices connected to nothing else.
- Set the computer to a Static IP address in 192.168.1.x that is not192.168.1.250. subnet mask 255.255.255.0
- Power on the MS80 satellite.
- Wait 2 minutes.
- Open a web browser on the computer to 192.168.1.250 and see if the MS80 satellite web page appears.
- Log in to the satellite
- Select Firmware Update from the menu and proceed to upload the extracted MS80 firmware image
- After the satellite reboots disconnect the Ethernet cable and set the computer back to normal DHCP addressing.
