NetGear MR60 Router - WiFi Connectivity Issue between two computers

Hello,

I have a MacBook with WiFi  to connect to Internet.  I have another computer (Jetson) that is also connected to Internet using Wifi.  They both are on 5 GHz. channel.   I cannot ping from my MacBook to Jetson and vice versa.    I can confirm both are in Access Control -> Security Allowed.  Is there a Router configuration that I should be paying attention?

Thank you,

Mustafa

  • Hello StephenB

Is this a continuation of your older discussion thread?

It is the same setup.  The VPN service is still there.  However now I am trying to connect the Jetson from my MacBook with WiFi because the Jetson is installed on the drone and there I need to be able to communicate with it in my back deck.

If you are still running V1.1.7.134_2.0.65.2 firmware, then start by updating it.

I upgraded the firmware as mine was V1.1.7.134_2.0.65

Now I am able to ping Jetson from my MacBook.  I am also able to ssh.

Now somewhat peculiar issue,  one of the satellites wasn't able to come back online.  It is having white blinking light.

      Great.

What have you tried (if anything) to resolve it?

    1. What firmware is the MR60 running?
    2. Can either machine ping the MR60 LAN address?
    3. Have you made sure that the Mac firewall doesn't have "Stealth mode" enabled?  That would block Jetson attempts to ping the Mac (but not vice-versa).
    4. Are both machines connected to the same MR60 mesh element?
    5. Are both machines getting their IP addresses with DHCP?

FWIW, there is an old unresolved discussion thread here that is related:

Jetson is an AI platform made by NVIDIA.  They run Jetson Linux (formerly called Linux for Tegra).  This is derived from Ubuntu.

What platform is the "Jetson" computer? Windows? Linux?

Be sure any firewalls or security apps are disabled on these PCs that could be blocking.

Armor or Smart Parental controls enabled by chance on the MR?
