Nightgear Nighthawk MR60 WhatsApp video calls reconnecting

I have a nighthawk mr60 set up as my router with a nowtv hub 2 physically connected to it. If I use my iPhone for video calls via WhatsApp the call freezes instantly then cycles through reconnecting and freezing.

I’ve had the nowtv router changed and if I use that to connect to my WhatsApp calls work fine.

The nighthawk is on the latest firmware v1.0.6.110.

Suggestions please - flummoxed...

the nowtv hub 2 is a dsl modem/router device. And then you have the netgear router. Running 2 routers in router mode causes a double nat and can cause issues on a network.

    options? (only use 1)

1.put the nowtv hub in modem only/passthrough mode. Disables its routing features (including wifi)

    2. put the netgears Ip address intot he nowtv hub's dmz

    3. PUt the netgears in ap mode. disables some features but you can still use wifi/ethernet.

Ok days of research and trial later I can tell you the following. (!)

      1. There is no way to set the nowtv hub 2 as a modem/router so sadly that option is out.
      2. Can’t work out how to put the IP address for the MR60 in to the nowtv hub... tech support for nowtv haven’t come up with a answer yet either
      3. My plan to set the MR60 as another AP was about to start and then I realised that this is the source of the named Wi-Fi network and as gadget girl I have way too many devices to change it.... so I’m now thinking ...

      - either change the nowtv hub 2 (if so can I have a recommendation for an alternative please and a netgear option makes sense)

      - or work out how to 1. Change the network name on my nowtv hub to my Wi-Fi network name then.... 2. Reset the MR60 as an AP

Guidance please would be really appreciated. Thank you for the info so far!

to change the nowtv hub 2

        1. Open your web browser and enter "192.168.0.1” in the address bar.
        2. Select Maintenance and enter “admin” and “nowtv” as the username and password.
        3. go to wireless

from there you should be able to change the ssid.

then setup the mr60 system in access point mode and use the ssid the nowtv was using before.
