Hey all. Just wanted to share my recent experience with Netgear support. Bought my parents a Nighthawk AX3000 with 2 satellites. Their home set up with Spectrum cable internet should have been a snap to install. 3 hours later, 1 dead phone recharging, 2 missed phone calls from support, we got everything working. Here's the support case: Product: Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 Router With 1 Year Armor(MR70) Problem: MR70 setup Agent: 18480 This agent was helpful, courteous, professional and excellent in everyway. I have 35 years of customer support experience, and this agent went above and beyond in every way. I'd like to let Netgear corporate know, but I haven't found a way to do so. Any idea how I can give this agent Corporate Kudos?Internal network loses connectivity if internet goes down
We have a Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 (MR60) system with one MR60 and two MS60 satellites running firmware version V1.1.7.134. We have numerous wireless devices in our home such as smart TV, Roku devices, phones, tablet, printer and of course computers. Everything is great as long as the internet is up but if we lose our internet connection, the devices connected to the Nighthawk network lose connectivity. Now, I understand I cannot get out onto the internet but I do not understand why my internal devices connected to what I call the same network lose connectivity with each other. For instance, I use one computer with multiple displays to remote desktop onto another windows laptop. Everything is fine until my internet goes down. At that point, I lose connection to the remote desktop session on the laptop and as far as I'm concerned, losing the internet connection should not interfere with the connection between those two computers. Any idea? ThanksAccess Control Not Allowing Devices to Talk to Each Other
My Asus ZenFi Mini (XD4) mesh system allowed me to connect to devices on the local network simply by visiting the IP address of the device I wish to connect to. For example, I am running an application, which is exposed to outside traffic, on 192.168.1.5. I was able to visit that IP from all other devices on my network and reach the web pages the application serves. I had to quickly pick up a Nighthawk MK6W because the Asus router started going bad after some years. However, I could no longer visit 192.168.1.5. I get ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE. A different forum post suggests turning of Access Control entirely, which indeed was the solution to allowing access to that local IP address again. The strange part is that only Windows devices were cut off from being accessible. The Linux servers on my network did not experience this problem when I visited their IPs. My question (and frustration) is, why did this happen in the first place? With Access Control turned on, and no device blocked on my network (totally fresh setup), I would have expected to be able to visit device IP addresses without an issue. Why do I have to turn Access Control off for this functionality to return?Using MS70 with MR60 and MS60
Hi all, My dad (tech illiterate) has purchased 2x MS70 satellites to increase the size of his current mesh network which uses an MR60 and 2x MS60's. He was told these would be compatible by the salesman at the store but after following the installation steps and checking for software updates I have been unable to add the MS70's to the network? There are two threads about using the MR60 with the MS70 (or MR70 with MS60, but that is not my situation), however both have failed to raise a solution to the issue and just kick the can down the road for a future update. I can't think of a reason why the 70's shouldn't work with the 60's other than poor design? I'd greatly appreciate any support. Thanks. Why does my Wi-Fi not connect after certain power failures? I am away from home a lot and at least twice now (not all the time), my router restarts fine after a power outage, my Netgear mesh boots up and shows blue status, but it won’t connect. I have to disconnect the internet in cord, power down, reconnect internet cord, power up to get the mesh hub to reconnect. Is this common for all wifi/mesh systems? if so, how can I prevent it? I need my Wi-Fi to work when I’m away!1.1KViews0likes3CommentsMS80 Satellite cannot connect to router
Hi I have three MS80 mesh satellites and a MR80 Router. They were all working after initial install about a year or so ago. One of the MS80s will not connect to MR80 Router. I tried reboot, reset no avail. When I plug in the MS80 the light flashes white then goes amber. I hit the sync button it starts white and then goes amber again. I don't know what it wrong and any help would be appreciated. Thanks2.1KViews0likes3CommentsMR70 router no longer able to access the Internet
Yesterday my MR70 Mesh router started displaying the amber light. I've been trying to troubleshoot this for hours but nothing is working so I'm wondering if anyone has any idea on what to try. Here's some info: - Comcast is my ISP - I'm using a CAX30 modem (I disabled its Wireless) and all wired connections to it work - I had an MR70 router with two satellites; the connection between those and the devices seem to work, but the router can't connect to the Internet; in the Nighthawk app it had an Internet address of 0.0.0.0 but when I look at my modem settings in routerlogin.net I see it being assigned an IP address Here are the things I tried: - Reboot modem and router, both via the Nighthawk app and by unplugging the power - Check firmware is up-to-date - Connected my desktop PC directly to the router - Factory-reset the router, re-installing it via the app Bonus question: in that configuration, routerlogin.net redirects automatically to the modem. How can I then connect to the router? (I tried routerlogin.com 192.168.0.1 192.168.1.1 192.168.100.1 and they're all the same)5.6KViews0likes12CommentsMR80 unable to communicate with router to manually update firmware
My MR80 recently bricked with corrupted firm ware. Exterior light is blinking white. I've tried cycling it on and off and verified the cables I use are good. Factory reset pressed when the router is powered on does nothing. I was following the instructions (including manually setting the IP of the computer) to manually update the firmware via tftp using command prompt but I can't maintain a connection long enough to send the file. While the router is blinking white, my computer registers the Ethernet connection as "Media disconnected" (via ipconfig). When I try to send the file I get the message "connection request failed". When I try to ping (using command prompt) the router IP I get "request timed out" If I hold the factory reset while connecting the router to power and continue holding it, the blinking white led will turn amber for about 10 seconds. During the time when it's amber ipconfig registers the connection to the router reflecting the static IP/subnet/gateway I set. Once the light goes back to blinking white, I no longer get a responses. When the light is amber and I ping the router IP (in command prompt) I get 1ms response with 0%loss.The light goes back to the blinking white independent of whether or not I continue to hold the factory reset. The time the amber is lit is insufficient to receive the firmware. I've tried different ports on the router with no difference. I've tried everything I can think of but unless I can get the computer to communicate with the router for longer I can't figure out how to get the firmware uploaded.2.4KViews0likes4CommentsMR 60
I had to change my modem and then reinstall my mesh network. I want to change the name to my mesh network but the app is showing that I'm not connected to the mesh wifi, but I am. I'm connected to the Netgear wifi, and I have solid blue lights, but when I open the app, it opens to the page that is detecting product and it keeps saying wifi not detected. Why isn't the app recognizing that I am on the Netgear wifi, and the wifi is functioning ?
