Cant Hard Reset Nighthawk Xr500
Ordered this Nighthawk xr500 on eBay and instantly ran into trouble. When I started the router, it asked for user and password I put in the default. admin for user and "password" for password. Didnt work so it sent me to the password reset feature. Since I did not set a previous password and did not know the sequrity questions I self reset. I held the button for 15 seconds Lights Flashed and all but again ran into the same isdue i even attempted a "hard reset" going for the 30-30-30 reset and still the same problem occured. I i looked up Hard Reset but all say the same thing . I have reset multiple times using the simple 10 second hold to the 30-30-30 and none have worked and his wifi usename still appear in the netwok i am at a loss of what to do and I am regretting ever buying this router. Please Help Someone...

If the 30-30-30 didn't work then possible the router is in a bad state.
Try to see if you can force load FW on to the router using TFTP:

Need to press the reset button for 30 seconds then release, then it send to PUT the command and upload the FW.
Make sure you enable tftp: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
Video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done:

I had a problem on a Windows 10 PC where this didn't work to use TFTP, so I switched to a Windows 7 PC and the TFTP worked.
Mac TFTP: https://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0001247
Try nmrpflash:

I would have had the seller factory reset it before they sent it to you.

Try a different pc/browser. Also make sure any password managers are disabled.
I'd also make sure its all lower case and there isn't any spaces
