Home Networking Setup
Hi,
can someone help me. Right now I'm having orbi mesh network setup which my provider force me to put it , but I'm planning to change it with 2 sx10 switch and xr700 router and ex80 extender. "I have 1200 Mbps speed internet"
my plan is connect CAT8 from network provider to the sx10 switch and then from switch to xr700 Router and then from the switch to first floor connected to another sx10 switch which is in my room and connected to all devices I have. The ex80 extender will be on first floor to cover the floor by wifi. note : all connection will be by CAT8 or CAT 7 I'm not sure until now,
please help or assist me how can I fix it or improve it, and one thing to put in mind the is my network provider box. I want to connect to is inside the electcity box which make hard to connect directly to the router that why I will use switch.
I will upload the elercity box with the network is inside it there is no way to but the router there and I talk to my network provider they said we can't move it.

- Thanks a lot for the video, that really cleared it up. I do think you have the right idea with what you want to do. I would suggest having the XR700 upstairs and then connecting your devices to that (with a switch if needed) and the extender downstairs. Then you should have good WiFi coverage on both floors. Your idea will definitely work, might be a case of moving the router/extender around to find what provides the best coverage.

This is my plan I hope it's understandable
- What is it you have from your ISP, is it a pure modem or modem/router. If it is a pure modem then you can't connect a switch directly to it to then pass it on to other devices you have to connect a router to it first, then you can connect a switch to the router.
I did look up for it and it is this one ( EchoLife HG8240T5 GPON Terminal ) ,but I'm not sure what is it
