Microsoft Teams dropping continuously

We are using an XR1000 gaming router and when I use Teams I continuosly drop. This is during the day when we have very little traffic on our home system as kids are in school. Is there a setting that can give Teams more priority? Is there some other problem that I'm not aware of? For the laptop running Teams it is wired with ethernet cable so not using wifi.

  • I'd suggest first in WAN Settings setting NAT to Open, if it still continues on the QoS page disable QoS entirely in the Congestion Control option menu and see if it works

What are the security implications/risks of setting to open? And would would any security concerns be migitated by the fact that I'm running McAfee?

It's quite safe, the firewall is slightly relaxed but it will not cause you any issues - I run it on my own connection without issue
