Netgear Nighthawk XR-1000 issues

Hello,

I recently boughty the XR100 Netgear Nighthawk Wifi 6 router it has been only 4 months since I installed it. At first it was working perfectly with no issues. Recently, it started to fail in the way that it needs to be constant rebooted to get adaquate speeds, to get the wifi to connect, and improve connectivity. It bascially reduces it speed, and sometimes I cannot even connect to 5GZ wifi for unknowed reasons. I have the most to date firmware, I have factory reset. I am wondering if anyone is going throught the same issue? Is this product defictive? Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Additional Info:

Modem is a : CM1150V Netgear

Internet Provider: Xfinity

Paying for 1 GB internet, but now the most I am getting is 30MB on both2.5 GZ, and 5GZ. When I am infront of the system.

  • When the issue occurs are you getting full speeds through ethernet on the XR and direct to the modem?

Like Netduma-Fraser says, direct connect a pc/laptop to the router and test its speeds. Also, check the speeds directly connected to the modem. On xfinity that modem only supports 1 device connected to the modem. so make sure to disconnect everything from the modem, reboot it, and then connect the pc/laptop to it for speed testing.

I have and the speeds are good when I reset it, but after it reduces a lot. Like for example I been checking for a few weeks and once I reset i get like 600 download speeds, a few days later drops too 90. And wireless its 200 download speed and drops to 30 in a few days.

Does there seem to be any pattern to this, for example more devices being added over that time? Devices being closer to the router etc?
