Netgear XR1000 internet flashing red and green
My router is doing this and I’m just curious as to what this means. I came across another thread saying not to worry about if it’s working fine. Which it is working fine, I would just like to know what this indication means. Seems it’s always doing this until I reboot the router then it’s good for several hours. I can’t find it in any NETGEAR publications. This suggested article https://kb.netgear.com/24244/What-do-the-LEDs-on-my-NETGEAR-router-mean says nothing about it.
- So far so good, 2 nights with no red and green. So I guess I’ll chalk it up to the firmware updates without factory resets for now. Appreciate the help.

- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerCould be micro disconnections perhaps, try changing the ethernet cable connecting the router to the modem and see if that resolves the issues.
- Thanks for the replay. I’ll try this later when I get home . I mean an ethernet cable is a cheap enough hip shot. I’m just not fully convinced that’s the problem. I’ve searched this before and vaguely recall seeing something somewhere about the router configuring or something? Not sure exactly what it meant back when I read it and I couldn’t find it when I tried looking for it again.
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerThat would only happen if it's rebooting or going through a reset and you would notice either of those things happening. When it happens you could grab the log from the System Information page and I can see if there is anything referencing it there.
