Technically, yes, it shows&nbsp;WD My Book Essential is supported.&nbsp;

I assume you have tried both the available USB ports on the router? Can it be seen by your PC? When you first connected it to the PC did it require drivers/software to be downloaded before you could see it properly?

Yes, I have tried both USB ports. Furthermore, when connected to the pc it did not require any special program to be installed.&nbsp;

I would recommend you make a ticket directly with Netgear regarding this: http://support.netgear.com/ as it isn't the part of the software that we created, it isn't my strong suit. I don't think it will work if it isn't being detected and may be worth changes from NTFS to FAT32 for example or trying another drive.
