New Nighthawk has 2 mbps on wifi. ugh!!! cant get support, or they hang up on me

I just bought a Netgear CM500 modem and Nighthawk gaming router XR450 (which is not on the list above which is the cherry on top of this nightmare). My desktop, hard wired into the router works fine. 300 mbps.   Nothing else in the house works on wifi. I have 2 mbps. can stream anything, can barely go to a website.  I have waited on line, different times of the day for 5-6 hours at a time, waiting for support to answer. when they do, they say "oh, gaming, sorry I dont do that. hold on." they they put me on hold again, wait so long, it eventually hangs up me. When I finally DO get someone to answer, they hang up halfway through the conversation, I am guessing, because they dont know how to fix this. EVERY TIME I have spoken to someone... and they total times have been about 14 so far, I say "Please write my number down because we WILL be disconnec ted and nbo one ever calls me back". they say "of course, I will call you back within 45 seconds".  Not ONCE did ANYONE call me back. I dont care if you are working from home, so am I. You said you would call me back. It was MY turn after HOURS to get support. There is no excuse for not calling me back. and WTF - why is my model not listed above??? its brand new???

    Blackhawk? NG doesn't have any products under that name. There is Nighthawk. 

    What FW is currently loaded? 

    Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
    Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

     

    Be sure Smart Connect and Beamforming is enabled. 

     

    What wireless devices do you have? 

     

  • Sorry to hear you're having this issue and that you've had trouble with support. I would first recommend following our optimal settings guides here: http://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/folders/16000090646

    If you're still having issues then let us know and we can help out further. I would also suggest that you disable Smart Connect and connect to 2.4 or 5GHz manually. Use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channels in your area and then change the WiFi to that as well which will help with WiFi speeds specifically.

      So the Black hawk XR450 is not listed there either.  PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE CALL ME.  your people say you will call me if dosconnected and they never do. You have the number the ticket is 42700855

        So the XR450 is a Nighthawk product. 

         

        What Firmware version is currently loaded?
        What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

         

        What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
        Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

        Try enabling Smart Connect, Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

         

        What devices are you using to speed test? 

         

        Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
