Nighthawk XR300 and Huawei 612 Modem on Talktalk
Hi all, I've got a friend who is trying to set up her new XR300 with a Huawei 612 unlocked modem, and is having a lot of trouble.
She is able to get th DSL light on the modem meaning that is receiving an internet signal, but when she connects the XR300 by LAN (LAN1 on the modem to WAN on the router) she is unable to get an internet signal, the light stays sold orange occassionally flashing white for a split second every now and then. I wondered if anybody had any ideas for this? FYI the provider is TalkTalk

The settings on that page indicate that a login isn't needed but VLAN needs to be set, was that done?Okay so managed to fix the issue, we had to go back in to the internet setup and manually set up the connection rather than using the connection wizard - this allowed us to set it up as not needing a username and password and to retrieve everything via DCHP -thanks for the help :)

- Do you require PPPoE or VLAN for TalkTalk? The internet should get detected when going through the Setup Wizard, what did it say then?

The internet should get detected when going through the Setup Wizard, what did it say then?Talktalk uses automatic network auth for PPPoE which makes things awkward, the modem detects and accepts the internet but for some reason the router never. detects an internet connection
