Nighthawk XR500 lag spikes
Hey Guys,
I have the Nighthawk XR500 and lately I have been having very high lag spikes and the only thing that temporarily fixes the problem is by factory resetting the router. The problem it is that this is a daily problem. Every day the lag becomes very high and I need to reset the router and set the router up like I did on day one. It is becoming very frustrating.
I have even loaded older firmware onto it and the same thing happens the next day.
What could be causing this issue and what can I do to fix it?

Sorry to hear you're having these issues.
Next time a lag spike occurs, could you go to the System Information page and see if the CPU usage is high?
- Yes I sure can. I will keep you posted
- So I am getting high pings again and the CPU usage is 40-50% with some periodic spikes. There are only 2 xbox's on the router currently for online gaming.
- Here is a screen shot of my current ping times.
- Are you using QoS at all? Are ALL devices connected to the router? Also doing those kind of tests would be better on wired devices as wifi can be less reliable.
