Smart Connect only uses 2.4Ghz???
Does Smart connect just refuse to use 5Ghz or what? I have it enabled thinking it would be a nice feature so I don't have to choose which SSID like I used to...My network map shows nothing in house ever is using 5Ghz? Is my only option going back to separate SSID names?

- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerSmart Connect provides one SSID to connect to, it will then switch devices to either 2.4 or 5GHz based on the bandwidth needs of the individual device. If you try loading a 4K video on one device you should see this switch to 5GHz in the Device Manager table view.

Smart connect does automatically switch device based on signal/bandwidth but it doesn't always work the best. These could be instances like congested environments where there's a bunch of interference on 2.4ghz. In those situations, I'd recommend disabling it.
- Wolf0491AspirantSo I think what actually happened here is the 5Ghz band just stopped broadcasting again. I actually recall this happening before and I have the reboot the router to fix it. I think I may just go ahead and disable the feature so that I will know when this happens in future.
I guess it's a bug in the firmware.- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerThe beta is open now - the firmware has been removed for the moment but hope to get another version out soon so you could try that when it is available.
