Windows 10 - XBOX App Strict NAT - Nighthawk XR500

Got this new router today. XBOX App is telling me my NAT is strict. I have no idea how to fix this. People have said to do DMZ stuff and I don't know what that means even after looking it up. People have said make Static IPs. No idea what that is either. So yeah. This is frustrating to say the least.

I am hardwired to router

    What Firmware is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?

Built in router here? If so, This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
    Couple of options,

    1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
    2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem.

      Firmware Version - V2.3.2.40

Manufacturer of Modem/Router combo is Arris BGW210-700

This Modem/Router (Arris BGW210-700) combo that AT&T gave us is not gamer friendly which is why I purchased this Nighthawk thinking it was a simple plug and play solution.

I turned off all radio broadcasts in the AT&T Modem/Router. This Modem/Router is confusing to mess with. I cannot find any DMZ setting anywhere. I don't even think the page has DMZ anywhere listed. I CTRL+F and never finds it. It does have IP Passthrough setting though. Don't know what that means though or what to do. Sorry

Okay. I turned Allocation mode on to Passthrough

      Passthrough mode to DHCPS-fixed

Passthrough MAC address is the one that goes with XR500 Nighthawk. I clicked it. And pressed save.

It now says my NAT type is moderate.

        Cool, that's progress.

Now you should go to DumaOS and go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Port Forwarding > Add Service and enter the ports (search Xbox Port Forarding to find right ports) and the IP address of your console (can be found in Device Manager or on the Xbox itself)

If this fails, you could put the Xbox into the DMZ by going to Settings > Setup > WAN Setup and putting the Xbox's IP into "default DMZ server" but this isn't an ideal long term solution as it's relatively insecure. Definately don't put a PC into the DMZ!
