XR1000 Setup help & tips!

So I recently upgraded to spectrum gig internet and was recommended the Xr1000. I don't have knowledge about network stuff I don't know how to ask questions nor if im asking the right questions, so here goes. I got it setup but I was curious as to what y'all have done to make sure your speeds aren't slowed down? Like what would y'all recommend I do in the XR1000 settings to ensure I have the best settings.

Also, I have all the cables as CAT6 so am I fine or would I have to change them?

Setup: I have the modem and XR1000 router connected in the living room, I have a CAT6 cable connected to the XR1000 going from the living room to my room where I have a gig switch which then has 3 separate CAT6 cables that connect to my PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S. Would there be any potential issues with the gig switch being connected to the router or am I fine there?

Any tips, and recommendations are greatly appreciated so thank you for your time in advance!

Could you clarify, are you currently experiencing a reduction in speeds, or simply wanting to make sure you're not going to have this problem in future?

CAT 6 cables will work great, you can keep those!

Is the switch managed (I.e does it have an interface when you can make administrative changes)? If so, you may want to change it to an un-managed mode as that may cause problems with device recognition in DumaOS. If however it's un-managed, I see no potential issues with that being in the mix.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge. You are asking fr detailed thoughts on a specific range of upmarket routers rather than the bog standard General WiFi Routers (Non-Nighthawk and Non-Orbi) things covered here.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Nighthawk Pro Gaming Routers - NETGEAR Communities

Gaming routers have their own DumaOS operating system that is nothing like the one on Netgear's standard routers.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

    Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
