XR1000 upload qos not working/broken
To be very honest, the XR1000 has been a disaster from the start. with little to no updates, and updates not even fixing the main issues. idk if this issue will be fixed because i see so many people having the same issue with no fix. the problem im having at the moment is QOS not doing anything to limit my upload speed, wired or wireless. i have a FTTP connection, DSL of some sort (ADSL, VDSL. idk which.) speeds are 30mbps down and 5mbps upload. download QOS caps fine, but upload still maxes out. ive seen lot of posts with same issue. ive tried all the troubleshooting from those posts i read and nothing works. my connection works fine without having to enter a PPPoE user name. it works automatically but i do have an option of using that, it just never works on this router. its how the router is made im sure, because ive used other routers with QOS and it works fine on those routers but they are old and buggy. this is a newer router but has had these stupid bugs since i bought it 2+ years ago. its a joke because i paid near 400$ for it labelled a "gaming router" but it doesnt even do that correctly. not to mention again the lack of bug fixes or clarity on these problems even being a thing. can i get a netgear person to at least tell me they are aware about some of these problems or at least address they will/or cant be fixed. thank you

If the XR is handling PPPoE you will get that issue and it is something we're fixing. If the modem is handling it then QoS on upload will work.

i mentioned PPPoE because in my ISP modem web page there is a place where is shows " PPPoE username" and it shows a username. so im guessing it is an option i can use. im not to sure. i dont need it for my routers to work automatically but to my knowledge it is something i can use, but not to sure. but i dont think that is a main issue because QOS upload will work on other older routers but they are old and buggy. i bought the XR1000 for the features and labelled gaming router but it has always had so many bugs and QOS upload does not work. it gets annoying when you read other topics and no troubleshooting works after you have to go through the annoying process of downgrading, resetting to default, upgrading, resetting to default, changing this, changing that and still nothing. its just the router. on top of that the QOS isnt all that great i dont think because on my other routers i can test on Waveform Bufferbloat and get an A+ with no more than +5 on download or upload congestions. when i use XR1000 i get +60ms on download and +259ms on upload congestions. its just not a good implementation and i would expect more from one of the pioneers of gaming routers. netgear has always been the talks for routers amongst gaming and having an advantage since Call of Duty Black Ops 3. but the XR1000/DumaOs isnt doing justice for me and a lot of others it seems like.
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerUnderstood, if the XR1000 isn't handling PPPoE then it won't be that causing it. Are you using IPv6 at all? Can you provide a screenshot of your QoS page please? Traffic Prioritization can also skew those tests. Bufferbloat also only occurs when your connection is saturated, with QoS active that can never happen.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers

3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.Try option #2 first...

modem is a Calix 844G-1. its a form of DSL or ADSL 2. idk which DSL. i know its a FTTP connection but its low speed, not true fiber if i understand correctly. thats why my speeds are closer to DSL speeds (30mbps down, 5mbps up). ill attach photo for model number as im not to sure what is Mfr.
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerOkay so the ISP modem is handling PPPoE, that's fine, copy the WAN IP from the System Information page on the XR and put that in the DMZ on the modem - that will ensure it's passing all traffic straight through to the router, just in case it is interfering somehow. I can't see the other images until they're been approved unfortunately. Most people who have this issue are using PPPoE and it works fine without so not a normal issue.
Do you have any devices in the DMZ on the XR? Are you using Port Forwarding or have any Traffic Controller rules set up?
