XR300 is not fully utilizing 500Mb internet speed

I'm using a 500Mb Internet line.

Recently, the internet speed was as low as 80Mb, so the speed of the XR300 was restored after factory initialization

Today, there is a phenomenon that the speed is decreasing again.

We are using port forwarding, NAT filtering open, and geofilter.

Is there an option for me to check on the router?
(If you connect directly without using a router, you can get the speed right.)

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What is the CAT# LAN cable between the modem/ont and the XR router? CAT6 is recommended.

Speed testing with a wired PC?

      Firmware version: XR300 1.0.3.72_10.3.55
The router is connected directly from the port in my room, not via a router from a separate Internet company.
      All cables are Cat6.

The port from your room will eventually connect to a modem//ONT, what is the model of that? It sounds like not all devices are connected to the router is that right? You don't need port forwarding in addition to the NAT open option.

  • In addition to the above questions from FURRYe38, could you please let us know if you're using QoS?

If so, could you please detail how you've got it configured and whether your speeds improve when you completely disable QoS from the three-line menu in Congestion Control (Anti-Bufferbloat).

Fully disabling QoS did not improve the speed.

Now I've factory-initialized the router again and it's back in speed for a while.

You want to keep the current settings to see if the problem occurs again.

  • have you tried to set your Bandwidth Speeds to 1000/1000mb in the QoS section?
