XR500 intermittent dns timeout issue

So have had this problem for a while now and thought it was my ISP since they said they where working on some upgrade of their infrastructure but that work has been done for a while now. I have been trying to keep track of when this dns issue happens and kept a log and before calling their support I decided to connect to the internet without my router during one of these timeout periods and there was no problem. So its something in the router that stops me from resolving any url.

At random times a bunch of times a day I cant load any websites during a 10 to 30 min or even longer period but during this time I can still play internet only games and even watch youtube without any issue and any download I have running works.

I can be on discord talking to someone but if I switch voice channel I cant connect but I can still send them direct messages. I can be watching twitch and the video stops working but chat is still connected.

Nothing shows up in the router info I am still connected and the log looks "normal"

Got version V2.3.2.134 and cant update when I check for new version.

I am using a ISP DNS Google DNS and a Cloudflare DNS in the router settings tried different orders but the problem persists.

I turned QoS off but that did nothing.

This is getting annoying and thinking about buying a new router because this is not the first problems I have had with this one had a random reboot problem and a disconnect issue a while back but its been stable for a while now but there seems to pop up a issue with the router with regularity.

Found a new problem too thanks to this forum if I start battlenet and there is a update it will cause this problem every time.

I have called my ISP to get a public IP instead of the CGNat one I am currently getting will take 1 to 5 days I have seen some other ppl on forums with the same ISP having this issue and this might solve the problem.

While checking the log to reply with it I saw I got a new IP in the log and its not a CGNat one and tried out battlenet and I can still load pages. Here is hoping the random timeouts problem is solved too.

  • It could be the Adblocker if you have that enabled, when disabling QoS how are you doing that exactly?

Dont think its the ad blocker since it works when I dont use the router. Still get the time outs on a browser without ad blocker.

I just disabled QoS in the router menu with the check box.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

I dont have a modem just a wall socket ethernet port.

I used the same LAN cable that goes from the wall to the router when I tested it without the router. So direct link between wall and computer
