Xr500 LAN ports issue

Hoping someone can help. Had my router connected for 18 months without too many issues. Have numerous things connected via the WIFI and a PlayStation connected via Ethernet.

I recently updated the firmware to v2.3.2.134 via the nighthawk app on my phone.
This has caused the Ethernet cable connections to not be usable. All Wifi devices still work fine. I’ve tried to move the cable to the other 3 ports and it doesn’t change anything. The PlayStation says it can’t connect to the internet. In the PS help, it says something about the DNS settings. Ive checked the setting in the admin login and they are still all set to auto. I’ve tried reverting the firmware to the previous release via the software centre here and also performed numerous factory resets.

Any help would be much appreciated
  • Thank you for the quick replies. I’ve managed to fix it somehow. I’m not overly familiar with the internet connection terms but here’s my understanding of what I’ve done if it helps people in the future;

    I don’t have an ISP modem. I have the (NBN -Australian) fibre optic straight to the wall connection and then into the nighthawk router.

    I’ve somehow fixed it by getting the ISP to kick the connection to my UNI-D. Once I did that I had connection to my Ethernet ports and all is back to normal.

    I recommend reloading v.134 using a wired PC and web brower. After loading, factory reset the router and setup from scratch.

    What kind of LAN cables are you using? CAT6 cables are recommended.

    What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

      Good advice above! So if you plug a PC into the router that doesn't work either?

        I plugged my laptop in using a cat 5 cable and got the DNS error again. I’ve since fixed it and using the cat 5 cable is working with the laptop now

      I had reinstalled the firmware a couple of times and factory reset it. I’ve since fixed the issue. Appreciate your help.
