Xr500 quantum fiber
Hello, I move from xfinity cable to quantum fiber I want to only use my router (xr500), without their modem. I try doing it today but it didn’t work, the internet light was red. I put the Pppoe in internet setting, one setting I don’t remember was on “Always on”. Also I edit vlan tag bridge to 201, but still nothing, no internet, any suggestions?
- You'll need to connect the XR to that to get internet then. Copy the WAN IP from the System Information page on the XR router and enter it into the DMZ on the C4000 and you should be good to go. You can see how to do it here: https://www.centurylink.com/home/help/internet/modems-and-routers/advanced-setup/dmz-hosting.html

The XR500 is a router and not a modem/router combo, so you'll still need to have something on the network handling the modem functionalities.
What's the exact make and model of your ISP router/modem? You could probably either put it into a bridge/modem mode or DMZ the XR500, then just make sure all devices on the network are connected to the XR500.
