XR700 Constant Issues with DHCP
Running the latest Firmware with the hotfix and still having issues with this router. It refuses to give out IP addresses after a reboot. Devices cant connect due to no IP given. If I set one static it works fine. Otherwise its not happening. Not what you would expect from a $500 Router. Any ideas?
Ive tried factory resetting, updating and downgrading FW multiple times. Got a replacement and tried it...same issues. Not much more I can think of other than IP reservations for every device or static IPs on everything.

Also...if I set up a new Wifi network then reconnect all my devices...it works...but as soon as I reboot. Only a few can reconnect.
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerCould you provide a screenshot of your LAN Settings page please? Something very odd is going on there.

Same issues - just bought the xr700 - updated firmware to least ( ... .20 I think) - worked great for about a couple hours, then only 10 or so devices would connect, several that had IPs before no longer could get them.
In the meantime, I've had to pull out an old Linksys WRT1200AC to get devices to work correctly again.
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerSorry to hear that, try updating to this firmware and then doing a reset afterwards to ensure there are no legacy issues carried over and see if you get the same issues https://kb.netgear.com/000061714/XR700-Firmware-Version-1-0-1-24-Hot-Fix

I am having the same issue. Netgear actually sent me another XR700 yesterday. I installed it, updated it to the current version, and it is now beginning to fail. Symptoms before failure:
- Device Manager / R-App will not load. (this is probably why you see so many people posting about the initial symptom instead of the root problem, DHCP / DNS Server on the XR700):
XR700 r-apps not loading
XR700 R-app not loading.
ETC...
...Or my generic one... XR700 and DUMAOS Limited Functionality - If you go to LAN Setup and act like you are going to ADD a new reservation by clicking the ADD button, you may start to see the same Device Name repeated for different MAC Addresses
- Eventually, the router stops handing out IP addresses like it is all full - or confused about which devices are which.
The only workaround is to set it as an access point and wait for Netduma to fix this.
Note: Also, do not listen to people on these forums that do not have an XR700.

Retired_Member - helpful; thanks for this - you're describing some of the other symptoms perfectly (I had one device / mac address the NetDuma has assigned SEVEN IPs to) - still running the Linksys WRT1200AC in the meantime, but I would really love to use my XR700 - if for nothing else the extra anntenas === way better range and connection for devices (when it worked).
- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerWas that upgraded to the .24 version?

- EidolonGuideI'm having the exact same issue. The only work around I've found is to edit the lease valid time down to 5 hours or another short length. Most items then will get a DHCP IP address. Once all is working I can change the length back to 24 hours.
I've a mixture of static and virtual. Static will work straight away after reboot but DHCP devices has issues.- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerWhere are you doing this exactly, on the up stream hub? The XR doesn't have the ability to change lease times.

I change it when i log on to the router.
You can find it here:
Settings/LAN setup/DHCP Lease Time (range: 1-24 hours)
running version: XR700 V1.0.1.20
Hope that helps

Could you please provide as much detail as possible about the issue you're experiencing as well as any troubleshooting steps you've taken so far?
- ShadowMeltApprenticeI tried every troubleshooting step and I really do believe this router can't handle so many devices connecting to it all at the same time. Only way to fix it is to slowly connect each device almost one by one. Ring security and cameras I notice connect and reconnect throughout the day may cause the router not to issue ip addresses. When this happens I cut the power to half of the house and slowly turn on each breaker so each device can connect segregated from each other.
I had to give a good reason to buy this router and it fails like this since day one. It is embarrassing cause I really thought this router was going to give me and my family power to game and stream. Also it seems to max out at 450gbps wireless on 5ghz connection when my isp is 1gig. This I made another post for but non of the troubleshooting steps are working.- Netduma-FraserNetDuma PartnerIf the WiFi issue is still a problem let us know in that topic and we can continue - you didn't respond to my last message there. Create a guest WiFi network and see if the devices really struggling to connect can connect that way. If they can then assign them a reserved IP in LAN Settings then try connecting them to the normal WiFi.
