XR700 disconnects continuously

 

Hi all,

 

I recently purchased a brand new XR700 and it's been a nightmare so far. Setup just fine, auto patched to the latest firmware no problem  As soon as I started using it, however, I began to get constant disconnects on both my wired and wireless devices. Dug around on these forums and tried all the steps listed below and am still getting constant disconnects. Posting here hoping maybe someone has found a solution or maybe heard if Netgear is doing anything to fix the problem? At this point, the router is just an expensive paperweight =(

 

Steps taken so far with the latest firmware: 

Downgraded firmware and did a factory reset - still disconnects

 

If I unplug the XR700 from my modem and plug my trusty old D-Link in all of the problems go away and all of my devices stay connected with no drops.

 

Any other things I could try before I give up on this router?

  • As you've found Netgear are aware of the issue and are actively looking into the issue. If the steps which have worked for others are not working for you I'd recommend getting in touch with Netgear support to see if they have any further suggestions http://support.netgear.com/ or can collect data from you to diagnose.

      Sorry I meant that 45 minutes is the longest my devices have stayed connected. There is no set time limit on when they disconnect. Could be 3 minutes, could be 45 minutes. 45 is just the longest I've had the connection stay stable since I set up the router.

        That's very strange, can you include a copy of the logs please when a device disconnects?
  • I was able to downgrade to firmware 1.0.0.20 and disconnects have ceased. Happy days.
