Have you tried downloading the FW files and manually updating the system? RBS first, the RBR lastly?

Hi,
I have the latest app version already.
I've not touched my firmware since setting up the devices because I've read too many horror stories of people needing to rollback, downgrade, factory reset, etc. after touching their firmware and it causes more problems. Have seen lots of recommendations to turn off updates and avoid moving firmware unless having a major problem.
The app and the browser both worked fine yesterday. Today neither one loads properly. The app takes 30-60 seconds to show the network map when clicking on the router on the screen and when you click on each device (router, satellite 1, satellite 2) it takes forever to load and says no devices connected. But, the details of the individual component show up fine. Then if you go to the DEVICE MANAGER page, it churns forever and then errors with, "Sorry, your device list failed to load. Please try again later."
When I had a similar problem back in May with the app other users on Reddit confirmed the same issue and a day or two later it just started working again - no changes on my side, so clearly something on the Netgear side. And this was when connected LOCALLY or via ANYWHERE ACCESS in the app.
Today, the change is that the web browser access of the router won't show any attached devices - it doesn't even show the satellites. Yet the HOME screen has a block showing "satellites: 2, attached devices: 19" ... so why would it "know" about the connections but not show them on that page? Does that page somehow go through or connect to APIs on Netgear's side that it could be broken (since the app is clearly affected by Netgear, too)?
I guess I'll just give it a few days and see if it works itself out again since I am not paying Netgear to call and ask them. I honestly regret ever buying this setup. I thought I did enough research before spending the money I did on the Nighthawk modem and then Orbi system ... but clearly not, as I did not know the company refused to offer any support after tech support whatsoever after 90 days unless you want to subscribe to a plan. My next setup will not be Netgear.
Assuming it doesn't resolve itself, my first step will be to reboot the router ... then satellites if it still doesn't work ... firmware would be my last resort. What is considered the most stable version of the firmware for the RBR750 and RBS750 units? Again, I see people talking about dropped connections, needing to rollback, etc. and haven't found a clear consensus on a "good" version to go to if I decide to take that process on (which I know is not going to be quick and easy so I have to wait until a weekend when I have more time)?
Thanks!
