Can log into Orbi via web browser, can't login via app

Question

I've had an Orbi for more than 6 years, and have always been able to log into the admin console via Safari on my Mac. I just bought a new Orbi setup, and when I launched the app on my iPhone, it wants me to log into an account with "admin" as user name. I'm not sure that I even set up an account with the user name, and in Safari's saved passwords, there's no user name attached to orbilogin.com.

So I reset the password in Safari, but that password doesn't work in the app. I want to set up the new devices on my iPhone, but if I can't even get to the setup screen, there's no point in trying. I thought it would be easy to scan the QR codes and set it up that way, now I'm a bit hesitant about event starting.

Above all, why can I log into the router one way and not another?

Unlike the web browser login, In the app you need first to login to your netgear account (user name is usually you registered email) then you need to provide the Orbi credentials.
In the web GUI you only need the Orbi credentials to login

No, the app fills in the user name with admin, then asks for the admin password.

In the app, under &gt;&gt; Account Management &gt;&gt; Login Settings &gt;&gt; Do you have Two-Step Verification enabled?&nbsp;If not, then I recommend you to activate it and set the device as trusted device.
