Orbi Android App has stopped working on my Moto G Power 5G - 2024
Hello,
My Orbi App has quite suddenly stopped connecting to my RBR20 hub only while using my Moto G Power 5G - 2024 phone.
The error message that appears:
'No Internet Connection. We can't load this page due to a weak or no internet connection". See attached image.
Observations and actions:
- I am local to my RBR20 hub and WiFi and cell data are both enabled.
- I can ping both internal and external sites from the phone.
- The phone works as expected in all other aspects. No other app is causing this type of problem.
- I've tried deleting and re-installing the ORBI app.
- I have two older Motorola phones where the ORBI app can connect to my hub without issue.
- I can connect to the hub via a web browser
At this point, I'm stuck. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Very strange, since the phone screen clearly shows a strong WiFi connection.
What happens if you drop the WiFi connection and use only LTE?
One of the things that annoys me about the Android Orbi 'app' is that once I enabled Anywhere Access, the app defaults to using Anywhere Access even when I am connected directly to the router. The Anywhere Access setting is "by device", meaning that each device running the app has a separate setting for Anywhere Access.
Do you happen to remember whether Anywhere Access is enabled on your phones?
- Thanks for your reply.
Anywhere Access is enabled on the router. Just for fun, I turned it off and noted no change. Same error message.
RobSorry I wasn't clear. Anywhere Access is a feature that can be enabled on each device that is running the Orbi 'app'. ( keep old cell phones (because their trade in value is zero) On some, I enable Anywhere Access and on some I leave it disabled.
Since the app was not working on this phone, I just wondered how the app was configured on other phones.
A funny thing just happened.... I got out one of my old Android phones and installed the Orbi 'app' on it. When I went to open the app, it popped up that same stupid screen about not being connected to the internet (even though it clearly was).
I selected "Try Again" (should have taken a screen shot, but had not used that phone in over six months and wasn't entirely sure how to do it). The app then installed and let me configure it.

It is frustrating when apps stop working but don’t worry. Restarting the phone or updating the app might fix the issue quickly.
Hello Godmade9,
Thanks for your recommendations... I already tried rebooting and reloading the app several times, without any success.
We'll see if Netgear thinks my business is important enough to provide any help on this issue. Accessing the hub from my phone is mission critical for me, so I'll be looking for a mesh solution from another provider.
Thanks to all for your suggestions and input.

- Tim050AspirantI got the same issue.. on both phones (honor magic 6 pro) and (Samsung Galaxy a53). On both phones i got the message. I do get a e-mail with a code to login. Still when i open the app it keeps saying no internet connection. I tried to keep pushing 'try again' but then just the whole app stops working. I hope someone has a solution to this very annoying problem.
- What i did was download an older version of the orbi app from aptoide and now working fine they just updated it and now it just crashes
Very interesting... an older version of the app works. Thanks for that.
That tells me that Netgear needs to do a better job of ensuring that revisions of their app work on platforms used by their customers.
I can only presume that Netgear now knows (through this dialog) that they have customers that can no longer use their Android app. It's now on them to fix the problem if they want to keep those customers.
Thanks.
