Brother MFCL3750CDW no longer connecting to Orbi WiFi
No sure what happened. The printer can "see" the SSID, yet when I try to connect with the password, I get an alert that the WiFi Access Point does not support the needed security protocol of WPA2-PSK (AES)...and I log in to the WebURL of my Orbi router and I can clearly see this is enabled.
Does anyone have any experience here with connecting a Brother printer over WiFi to the Orbi Mesh WiFi 6E System - AXE11000 - 3 pack (RBKE963)?
Thanks so much. Just beyond frustrating, as it worked for months and now all of a sudden it doesn't.
Troubleshooting already done:
1) Reset Brother Printer to Factory Default and attempted to set it up like new.
2) Rebooted my XFinity Modem, and Rebooted my Orbi Router & Mesh
3) Tried printing from 2 different PC laptops and 1 Airbook PRO
4) Tried turning the printer off for 10-15 mins and then restarted it
What is really odd,.... the printer will not be connected for hours... then I may walk by and see it it connected to WiFi and I will run to the primary PC and print successfully (wow!), then go grab the AirBook PRO and it won't print, just hangs..... I will go the 2nd PC Laptop and by now, the Brother printer is no longer connected to the WiFi.
Sharing because of the behavior.. sometimes randomly it will reattach to the WiFi and be available, but then get booted off. So perplexing.
Xfinity Modem is in passthrough BridgeMode to the Orbi Router. Orbi is my Router and WiFi Hub. And then the 2 satellite Orbi Mesh APs. That's the set up. Primary Orbi Router is about 18 inches from the Brother Printer.
(Note: I had Google Mesh set up this same way and never ever had any of these problems. I killed it because we were not getting the best coverage in the house, so I upgraded to this Orbi system)

Working with Netgear support on the phone (yes, I had to pay $99.99, and buy a 1 year contract for this help) đ
Turns out it was a bug in that last version of firmware (6.3.10???.... can't remember it exactly)
After an hour of various resets/reboots/power cycles, etc,.... as asked if it could be a firmware bug.
We needed to go to the Netgear site directly and download the Satellite Firmware and then the Router Firmware.
Critical order of steps. Install the Satellite Firmware *FIRST*... one at a time. Once they are fully back online and healthy, *THEN* install the Router Firmware and allow it to come back healthy and online.
Validate the the Mesh is back up and healthly.... speed tests to all devices.
Then we tried to again use the Brother standard WLAN Assistant Utility....... voila. Bingo, connected.
All devices can printer wirelessly, the Apple devices also all have access to AirPrint, too.
Everything is back to normal.

This is "just me", but I would connect the printer to the Orbi router with an Ethernet cable. "Problem solved." Before connecting them, I would copy the Ethernet MAC address from the printer product label and enter it into the LAN Setup table:
I very much prefer to assign a specific IP address to printers so that once computers have 'located them', they will always be at the same IP address. This is on the Orbi web interface (http://orbilogin.net The Orbi 'app' does not support this feature.) Navigate to the Advanced Tab, Setup Menu, LAN Setup. "Add" an entry for the printer MAC address. If this is done before the printer is wired to the router, the printer will get the desired IP address first time.

Something to try is I've seen some of these brother printers have issues with mixed wpa2/wpa3 mode or just wpa3. Try either setting the security to wpa2 (if you can, not sure on that model and mines not installed right now). If you can't, then enable the IoT network for wpa2 and see if you can connect it to that.
