c3700 modem compatibility with orbi rbk852

Can someone enlighten me about my old modem(c3700) connecting to a mesh network(rbk852) will it be compatible?

Thank You

No reason why it shouldn't work.

The best way to make them play nicely together would be to disable the modem bit of the c3700 modem/router.

    Visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

Check the section in the manual

Cable Your Modem Router to a Router or Gateway

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

    Will it work? Yes.

You can either run the C3700 in modem only mode or leave it in router mode. If you leave it in router mode just make sure the ssid is on a different channel/ the orbi is in access point mode (prevent a double nat), and the ssid is a different name than the primary.

(if it was me, I'd just use the c3700 in modem only mode).

I will say, the modem for the c3700 is a pretty base model docsis 3.0 device and isn't going to do much for speeds. If your speeds are greater than 100mbps, I'd be looking at upgrading it.
