Can't update RBR850 router firmware

I'm having issues where numerous devices are being dropped on my wifi.

To address the issue:

1. I started by performing a factory reset of the router and reconfiguring it.

2. I then started updating firmware. The satellite and router were both on v4.6.8.2. However, when I went into orbilogin it didn't recognize that a newer version of the firmware was available.

2a. I then manually updated the satellite to 4.6.8.5.

2b. However, when I try to manually update the router, I don't see the router as an available device on the 'manual update' firmware tab. Only the satellite is available. See first Image. It's interesting that both the router and satellite are available on the 'online update' tab. See second image.

Any suggestions for how I can update the router to firmware version 4.6.8.5?

  • The screen shot is correct.

    • Above the line means to browse to the location of the router firmware file.
    • Below the line is a way to manually update satellites.

Click the Browse button above the line.

p.s. My personal practice is to ignore this method for updating satellites.  I connect directly to each satellite using its IP address and select the menu item Firmware Update on the satellite's web page.

  • You can find FW update instructions here:
