Cbr750 can't setup after reset

The cbr750 received a firmware update last week. I had problems and thought it was solved in this discussion. https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-with-Built-in-Cable-Modem/Cbr750-after-firmware-update-no-internet/m-p/2298109#M3905
The Orbi started randomly blocking various devices yesterday. After numerous issues and a factory reset today I am unable to connect to the Orbi with any device. The Orbi app now says that my access is denied when I try to setup the orbi via the app. I have tried on 2 different phones. At this point I think the Orbi is dead or the firmware had malware. Has anyone had issues with the Orbi after this firmware update to v4.6.14.4?

  • Need to add, I was stuck in a loop during setup in the app. When it says to connect via wifi to Orbi and I entered the password, I received a message to sign in to connect to the network. When I clicked on the message a window opened showing to download the app and connect through it. Gee, isn't that what I already did?
  • Set up the CBR with a wired PC and web browser at 192.168.1.1.

I tried that. I get the same browser window telling me to download the Orbi app to connect at the app store or play store.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Orbi app multiple times. I can't get past the Netgear login each time even though I have the correct password and user name. I have tried my login even with the Orbi off. It seems like the Orbi is not completely uninstalling all the information.

I was able to get in. I changed my password and also at the login screen I selected to log in with a one time password which worked.
I am waiting to see if all devices are stable on the network. One new Windows 11 laptop is now dropping the connection off and on even though "reconnect automatically" is selected. It previously connected at WPA3 but had to roll back to WPA2 for some legacy devices.
