How to track backhaul or satellite issue

Hello,

I'm using an Orbi RBR750 with 2 satellite. All firmware are up to date.

One of my satellite is a little bite far and connection status is poor. however, bandwidth are very good.

But... sometimes, my satellite loose connectivity for 10s, just the time to check and reconnect.

So I tried to connect the satellite to wire... same.

So, how can I track disconnection while I'm working to diagnose issue.

It's a computer, how can I check if I'm connected to the satellite or the routeur (Yes, satellite is 1 meter far from my desk but sometimes my computer is associated to my router. I can see that with wifi icon 2 bars of my macbook).

How could I correct that?

Thanks

  • hello,

no change on the led color, log are so poor, how could I trouble shoot if my Mac prefers connect to other satellite?

    Last firmware is loaded.

My home +150 m2 (1615 sq ft) on 3 levels

routeur is at the center of the home, sat in question is l+2 (vertical of the rbr)

think it’s a huawei or Nokia ONT, no pb with that all other devices work.

Yes connected by wire to the routeur, if led doesn’t change you are right to notice that, maybe he does not lost BH.

Sat is maybe a little bit away of 30 ft. There are material yes…

How can I read channel of my configuration?

    wifi 2.4:auto

    wifi 5:40

    sounds good?

    thanks for your help

What version number is the FW on the system?

What is the model# of the ONT?

For that size of home, the RBR and maybe just one RBS would be needed. Not two.

      Too Much Wifi: https://youtu.be/UR0viMLISz4

Lets turn OFF one RBS for now.

      Try channel 1 and 40 or 11 and 48.

That is a really tough question.  One tactic is to set up a program that checks the network on a frequent basis and look to see if there appear to be gaps in the record.

The Mac world offers entirely different apps than the Windows environment.

Does the front LED on the RBS turn PINK when this happens?

What version of FW is loaded on the system?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

When the RBS is ethernet connected via ethernet BH, is the RBS directly connected behind the RBR or is there any LAN switch in between the RBR and RBS?

What CAT# LAN cable was used?

What channel configurations are currently set on the router?
