Move Orbi satellite to a different router
I have two Orbi 750 Routers at my house.
In California, Comcast lets you have 2 cable modems without charging you, so I have one modem in my garage -- about 300 feet from the house and another modem in the main house.
I bought two Orbi 3-Packs from Costco -- i.e. router plus 2 satellites. On the 3 packs -- the wifi name, i.e. "Orbi47", etc is the same for the router and the two satellites. (Yes, I change the SSID during setup)
In the garage, I was only using 1 satellite, in the main house I was using all 2.
I decided that I wanted to put a 3rd satellite in the main house. No matter, how many times that I have reset/reinitialized the router and the satellite, the "extra" satellite always wants to sync to the Garage Router. It's a weak signal -- and not what I want. I want to sync the extra satellite to the house.
So far, all I can see doing is to shut off the orbi router in the garage and the 1 satellite, turrn the extra satellite on and sync to the main house. I can do this -- however, I worry about what happens when a power outage comes and then there is a race condition on which router to sync to.
Anybody have any good ideas here? Anyway to change the embedded Orbi Wifi SSID -- i.e. the "orbi47" name, etc on the satellite so it by default syncs/pairs with the house router?
If you power off this extra satellite, the garage router will show it as "Disconnected" and ask if you want to delete it.
Click "Yes".
Then, power off the garage router.
Carry the satellite into the house and use the "Add Orbi Satellite" (bottom menu item) to add it to the house Orbi.
Once added, it will no longer attempt to sync with the garage Orbi router and will display the SSID of the house router.

Thank you, your suggestion worked.
