My orbi rbs 850 won't connect to my rbk752 system

As far as I can see on the compatibility list these two should go together. I have been more than satisfied with my rbk752 and therefore wanted to expand it now that I needed something for a bigger home. Unfortunately it keeps saying it cannot connect to the router, I need to move it closer (magenta light). I have tried having them 1 meter/3 feet apart, but it is still a problem. My old router can be put at one end of the house (router in the mid), is this a common problem? Do I need to connect it in some other way than the "add satellite" in the app?

  • What FW is loaded on the 850 and 750 system.

Did you first turn OFF the 750 RBS and then try to sync the 850 RBS to the 750 RBR using the Add Satellite feature on the RBRs web page?

What happens if you ethernet connect the RBS to the back of the RBR?

Funny you link to the page where netgear itself says it should be compatible, hence my purchase of the 850 😉

When connecting with ethernet cable it adds the 850 as a router/device (similar to how it would add a computer to the device list), but it doesn't add it to the system itself 😞
