My WIFI network became "open" after adding a 3rd satilite
Hello everyone
I have a RBR750 V3.2.18.1_1.4.14 with two Sats , I added a thried all went well.. when the system came back up ....
The wifi access near the router and one of the original sat the WFI network still requires a PWD (WPA-2 personal) .
I got up one floor using wired backhaul to sat #2 ... and the new sat#3 both wired basckhaul .... the WIFI network is OPEN... no password needed and showing as an unsecured net , on ios and apple devices...
rebooted to no avail ., removed third sat no change...
any suggestions?
thanks
Bill

Be sure all RBS are using same version of FW.
How is the RBS ethernet connected to the RBR? Directly behind or is there a LAN switch in between?
Turn OFF the other two RBS and re-sync the 3rd RBS and check the status page on the RBS to ensure the WPA2 setting is seen there.
Check the RBRs web page to ensure the same is set there as well.
Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Orbi AX product. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Orbi AX and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this "general Orbi" forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Hi
Sorry was not clearer...
I have the two sat system up and running for 6 months... no issues...
---
I went thru Ios app to add a 3rd sat this am. going thru hitting sync etc... all good...
after rest .. the network on 2nd floor still required pwd to connect...
Network on thrid floor has the WFI network "OPEN" no password ... even after to reboots and the second one with the new thrid sat removed.
Not sure why... I guess I will have to after hours go thru the UI to remove the third sat , reboot and see if i still have issue... if i do i guess i need to remove all sat and re add all and see if that clears it up...
any advise?
thanks
bill
Reset the 3rd RBS then try syncing with the back button on the RBR and RBS. Have the RBS in the same room as the RBR. Turn OFF other RBS in mean time.
Do you have any special characters in your SSID Password field?
