Need to reboot after a power outage - Satellites sometimes don't connect and display hidden SSID's.
Hi, I have an RBRE960 and two RBSE960 Satellites, with Satellites connected via ethernet backhaul to the RBRE. They are running V7.2.6.31 and for the most part are running well and stable, however if there is a power outage, then I have noticed they don't recover well once the power is restored, until a do a reboot through the ORBI app or website interface. The symptoms are usually, that the SE's usually try to connect on power return via WIFI backhaul to the RE, usually at this time the hidden WIFI SSID's display if you look at wifi maps and after leaving for a while one SE will usually work out its ethernet backhaul, and start operating but typically one SE remains in kind of this state that is not useable though connected through the WIFI backhaul , its not always the same SE either. Any wifi devices connecting to this SE usually dont have access to the rest of the network/internet. if you connect to the others you are ok, If I reboot the ORBi's through the app/web interface, then they return all fine and operating as normal, ethernet backhauls, no hidden network displaying etc. What I believe is happening is the RBRE is connected to a cable modem which is how we connect in Australia to the NBN in certain places, this can take a few mins to sync up once the power returns and I suspect by this time the RBRE is kind of through its stuff, but not quite connected to the internet and gets into this strange state for the RBSE's. The problem with this, is I cant always be around to reboot it or know its in this state to reboot if I do have a power outage, thus many IOT's and other smart devices dont connect. Again once I reboot its solid and works great. I can try the support route ,but as mentioned once you reboot its OK - so support route feels its fine, but to me the tolerance of the RBRE getting its internet connection on reboot is very flakey and causing issues.

Been many posts about FW v.31 not working well for users or user experiencing odd issues. Last good known stable FW to date was v.21.
How are the RBS ethernet connected to the RBR? Directly behind the RBR or is there a LAN switch or LAN patch panel in between them? If a switch, brand and model# please.

thanks for the reply, the RBS's are connected direct and not through a lan switch. There are lan switches in my network but not in between the RBR and RBS's. I just seen a new firmware come out, I will wait and try that rather then downgrading and test out a simulated power outage. will provide feedback from that.

I recommend after updating FW, RBS first, the RBR lastly, factory reset and setup from scratch.
