Netgear Orbi AXE11000 with Quantum Fiber
Thinking about upgrading from Spectrum 350Mbps to Quantum Fiber 1Gbps service. I want to make sure the AXE11000 will work right out the box or do I have to coordinate with the ISP to get everything configured right. I read older posts mentioning PPPoE, IPOE, etc. but I'm skeptical because those posts are much older. Does anyone have experience with the latest Orbi meshes (AX6000, AXE11000) and Quantum Fiber?
Since I want to use my own wifi is it possible to disable the wifi on their modem? I think the modem they use now is https://www.lumen.com/content/quantumfiber/support/equipment/c4000-user-guide.html

I recommend contacting the ISP and asking them if there equipment can be bridged or if not can the wifi be fully disabled.
Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

After talking to the technician a few weeks ago, he said the transition should be seamless. He mentioned their new equipment does auto vlan id's and such so I don't need to do anything to my Orbi router. I'll follow up with another post.
