  • So I updated from v16 to 3.2.17. Finally for the first time since last FW update of August of 2020, I can now do a Speedtest from the Orbi app or router page. It only took 6 months for NG to fix the issue! Now I get intermittent drops throughout the day. Really frustrating. I updated my two RBS850s first then the RBR850. I’m ready to package it all up and send it to the CEO of NG with a description of the crap I’ve put up with after spending $1k on the system. Based on input from above I will go check that the 5GHZ channel is 40 or 48 and the. Do a reboot of all three devices and the modem, powering up the modem then the Router then the 2 Sattelite. If it doesn’t work they are either going on EBAY, the trash or to the CEO of NG.

So far, so good here after upgrading. It's been boringly working away since and no complaints from my IOT devices especially the NestCams that will let me know if the WiFi is flakey.  So that's all good.  I have it LAG connected to a CM1150V cablemodem for the WAN and on the LAN side, a GS116Ev2 switch.  I finally put the Satellite back on the WiFi backhaul; not sure which is better, but it is theoretically faster than wired - either seems fine.  All working well and snappy speeds.

I had been using an AC3000/RBK53 setup for a good while before and it was mostly solid too, but the AX30K is faster and a more responsive GUI too.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad it's working well for you. Mines been doing the same for a good while now.

Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Helps save time if a reset is needed.

        Enjoy. :smileywink:

  • Installed manually on an RBK853 system - everything seems okay (so far), and I did notice that Speed Test in Advanced -> Setup now seems to be working again.

Data point: before installation, I backed up settings and I am connected via ethernet to a LAN port on my office satellite.

Good to hear. Backups are good things.

      Enjoy.

  • Received email about upgrade. When upgrading, Orbi app says no upgrade available though it is needed. No reply from Netgear after writing them. Any clue about how to get the update to work. Have 1 satellite
