One problem is that if I try to get good info on Router / Satellite coverage

Yep. Having ANY MESH system in a small size home is going to be problematic with having too much wifi signals running around. Like a busy noise restaurant as an example. Kind of hard to hear who your taking to with all the background noises happening. I presume that for the average home user, may not fully understand that and thats ok. Were here to help where we can to get users to understand that if possible.

Why we need the details and feedback to questions presented. This helps us and gives us direction.

Yes not everyone is having problems with MESH systems.

Lets see if we can get the details now.

One problem is that if I try to get good info on Router / Satellite coverage, it is hard to find and is vague: move them until they get a blue connect indicator.  OK, but what else?  One per floor?  OK, but is it?

So then what about that transmit power? It's an advanced setting, but there's not any guidance on setting it that I can find other than the caveat above from the help:

"Advanced Wireless Help

Warning: The wireless router is already configured with the optimum settings. Do not alter these settings unless directed by NETGEAR support. Incorrect settings might disable the wireless router unexpectedly."

I know Netgear is targeting less geeky people with this product - they want to make it simple not make you think about all this stuff.  Unfortunately, the lack of detailed info about how the product works and what each setting does makes it very difficult to understand why it may not work and what to do to correct any problems.

For my case, I think I don't have problems with a MESH system in general as I have had 2 previous Orbi setups that worked very well.

So we need you to please give feedback to the questions presented so we can better help you out. Makes it hard for us to help you troubleshoot and solve issues with out details and information. We are here to help and see if we can resolve problems only.

FYI, for a 2000sq ft home. the RBR would only be needed. Maybe one RBS placed at 30feet or more and the power on the RBR turned down to 25%. That size of home and having two RBS place would be too much wifi and maybe the cause of what your seeing. Too Much Wifi: https://youtu.be/UR0viMLISz4

I have a 5000sq ft home and run two RBS and power is at 50-25%. However I don't have same device count either. No issues seen over long periods of time.

This would be very easy to verify be simply taking the Satellites offline altogether.  My house is probably between 2K and 3K sq-ft, but it's 3 levels. So, things on the top floor can't easily connect at decent speeds to things in the basement - too many walls and floors.  And then there's a large deck in the back that I like to have WiFi when I'm out there - the exterior wall is a serious barrier!  And some of the Nest cams are also outside.  That said, even the 960 by itself is much better than WIFI routers from a few years ago, so taking the Sats out of the equation altogether would not be too painful and would easily put this potential problem to bed or not - something I plan to try soon, although using only one Sat hasn't helped me at all so far.

I do get where @FURRYe38 is coming from though.  I have to believe that some or even many people are using the Orbi 960 system with good results and the rest of us would love to know how they are doing that.  So it makes sense to look at the details of the configurations of people who are having issues to compare them to those who don't. This may or may not help but has to be done to eliminate variables.

Can you draw up a home floor lay out and mark where you normally have the RBR and RBS placed and distances between the RBR and RBS and each other and post it here?

So, the idea is coverage for each floor, coverage for cameras outside front, coverage for deck outside back.  The RBRE960 is located near the demarcation point at the wiring panel with the xFi Modem and Netgear switch that is wired to most rooms.  Sats are wired directly to the Router bypassing the switch.  I could, with some minor gymnastics, put the router into the center of the house on the main floor temporarily to get better coverage with the Sats disabled if it comes to that.
