Orbi 963 Devices not connecting

I have the router and 2 APs in a ~3100 sqft house with a basement. Router is in the attic with one AP backhaul hardwired and the other wireless for now. 

 

Setup has been relatively good until recently. Mostly SONOS speaker lose connection and Orbi has to be rebooted so they come back. Frustrating. 

 

Recently updated my laptop (Dell 7530) to Windows 11 foolishly. On Windows 10, zero connectivity issues. Upgraged to Windows 11, laptop will never auto connect and takes 30-45 seconds once I tell it to connect. SSID is available and attempts to auto connect but won't until I open settings and click connect. So must be a Windows issue right. Nope. Laptop connects to any other SSID fast with no issues. I have even gone so far to reset the Windows upgrade and to a fresh install, same result. Setting -> click connect -> wait 45 seconds. This happens with reboot, turning off the laptop radios, and if connection is lost for any unknown reason. 

 

I've had issues with a Lenovo laptop loosing connection and another work Dell dropping connection. Some IoT devices drop but usually come back. 

 

We have around 50-60 deivces connected, most have no issue or at least connect with an Orbi reboot. 

 

So why just my primary laptop and SONOS speakers having the issues?

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
    What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

     

    What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR📡 and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

    This attic space well ventilated and cool? 

     

    Does this happen with the RBS turned OFF? 
    Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices? 
    What channel configurations are currently set on the router? 

     

    For that size of home, the RBR and just 1 RBS is needed. Can you turn off one RBS and observe?

      Firmware = 6.3.7.10_3.3.3 (latest available)

      Don't know ISP info and can't see how that is relavent, given there are no issues with speed or access for the majority of devices and the problem devices once connected.

       

      Router (attic) to wired sat (basement) is about 70'. Router to wireless sat (garage) is about 90'. Sat to Sat is about 140'. 

       

      Router sits in about 80 degree max space. 

       

      This only happens to a select few wireless devices. Namely my primary laptop Dell Precision 7530. Also affects a Lenovo W540, another Dell Latitude 5530. Also affects Sonos Arc, Sub, Beam, One, and Roam.

       

      I have not tried isolating Orbi devices since they all work together the configuration should be seemless and act like one device. The point of mesh right? System indicates this problem laptop is connected to the router. 

       

      Primary target is the Dell 7530, any drop in wifi, toggling of radios, or reboot results in no auto reconnect. I MUST open the settings and click connect 30-45 seconds later I finally get a connection. Almost like the router/armor has blacklisted certain devices. How do you clear that?

       

      Wireless config is attached. Closest neighbor us about 500' away.

        ISP Info is relevant as we are trying to establish if there is a router and wifi here or not. Can cause problems. Reason why we ask.

        What CAT# LAN cable are you using to connect the RBS to the RBR? CAT6A is recommended. 

         

        Router sits in about 80 degree max space. 

        Over time, heat will damage the Orbi units. This would not be recommended.

        Be sure any ethernet or wifi adapter drivers are updated on the PCs or Laptops.

         

        Almost like the router/armor has blacklisted certain devices. How do you clear that?

        Disable Armor and see if this changes anything.

        Try channels 1 and 40.
