Orbi rbr750 wifi speed test slows down
Hey all, I have a RBR750 Orbi WiFi 6 Router AX4200 that has a slow wifi connection for videos.
The google speed test on the router LAN connection (ethernet) shows 100/38 Mbs (great) - It is connected to a telstra fibre internet connection.
If I connect to the wifi, the speed test download starts at 80Mbs (good) then drops down to 3Mbs (bad) after 15 seconds.
I have reset the modem, updated the firmware, and still no improvement. It used to work fine. Any suggestions?

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?How are you speed testing? Orbi app or wired PC and web browser?

Modem is Telstra technicolor TG799vac. When connecting my new Dell Laptop XPS-15 to the LAN port on this modem the speed test works well at 106/28.2 Mbs and the download speed does not slow down while testing.
Speed test with this website is:
- Go to Google.com.
- Search for internet speed test.
- Tap or click Run Speed Test.
(Google partners with Measurement Lab (M-Lab) to run this test.)Orbi speed test was done over wifi using the same XPS-15 with LAN cable unplugged.
download starts at 80Mbs (good) then drops down to 3Mbs (bad) over approx 10-15 secondsYour ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
