Orbi RBR750/RBS350 x Yale Door Lock connectivity x IoT Compatibility

I've got an RBR750 and two RBS350 satellites. Both are on firmware v4 (so the RBS350s can still function properly with the RBR750). Most of our smart devices are able to connect via the guest network to isolate the 2.4GHz network. Historically, zero issues with router / satellites (other than accidently updating the FW on the RBR750 to v7, subsequently rendering my RBS350s moot, but thankfully posts in this forum helped sort me out).

Recently bought a Yale door lock. Seems like connecting it with the guest network doesn't play as nicely as other IoT devices with running through the cloud. Saw that more updated FW have an IoT toggle, so I decided to try it on my RBR750 (at the expense of my satellites) to see if the Yale lock would work. Works like a charm. But now my satellites don't work, so I'm at a crossroad.

Trying to decide if I need to update my satellites / full system just to get the door lock to work... Seems like RBS350s are phased out of updated support anyways, so we're open to making a switch. Before I go that route, wanted to see if there are any other backdoors I should consider to get that lock to connect?

The lock in question is the Nest x Yale: https://store.google.com/product/nest_x_yale_lock?hl=en-US

  • v7 FW is now available for both RBR and RBS.

Update the RBS first then RBR lastly.
