Orbi RBS750 firmware update failing
I purchased an add-on satellite for my Orbi 750 system and am having trouble getting it connected to the router. I've learned from similar posts that this might be resolved if I update the firmware on the new satellite.
I tried every troubleshooting suggestion I could find, including a factory reset of the whole system. I can access the new satellite if I wire it to the router, identify the IP address and log in to it directly. The status of the satellite appears to be fine other than the old firmware. It's currently on V3.2.16.22_1.4.9 (vs the V7.2.7.15_5.1.16 running on the router and original satellite.)
I have the latest firmware my PC, but when I try to manually update the satellite it quickly fails each time. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
If you can access the new RBS web page with a web browser, try stepping into newer version of FW by trying to install v4.6.3.7 from the Previous Versions selection at the bottom of the download page here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/rbs750/#download
See if this gets the RBS up to v4 first.

That worked - thank you! Once I installed v4.6.3.7 and restarted the satellite, it the router recognized it and updated it to the latest firmware.

Glad you got it working.Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
