RBR8 with two RBS840 and Two RBS750 issues

So I have had this for some time  The satellites are all connected via wire and all switches are gigabit wired.  I have 500/500 fiber.  It tests this speed at the router.

The GUI of the router is slower than anything I've ever seen and maybe it's been since the latest firmware update, but the wifi speed is very slow and inconsistent.  Sometimes I get 27up and 5 down.  Other times I get 120 down and 27 up.  My iphone is about 15 feet from an rbs840.  Something is seriously wrong. ANY help would be great.

Thanks

  • What is RBR8? RBR should be RBR###

What web browser are you using? Happens in other browsers?

What FW version is loaded on the RBR and all RBS?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected.

What channel configurations are currently set on the router?

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, IPv6, Smart Parental Controls or Circle, Traffic Meter.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and satellites been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

  • Is the RBR8 even compatible with the satellites that you listed? I don't see the RBR8 listed on the compatibility list (routers and satellites).

My vote is for a typo.  It is fortunate but frustrating that Netgear has customers in almost every county.  It can be quite some time before the Original Poster discovers a reply.

I bought a three unit system RBR840 with two RBS840 sats from costco and added the two RBS750 that came with an older three system orbi mesh.  When I called tech years ago when I got the RBR840 they told me the two RBS750s would work.  They have and do show up as satellites.
