RBR850 ipv6 drops through connections?
Since switching from an old Apple Airport to an RBR850 with one RBS850 satellite (wired) I can not maintain a persistent connection through the Orbi hardware when using ipv6.
Xfinity is my provider. My xfinity modem is in bridge mode. If I ssh from a computer on my home network to a remote computer using ipv4 the connection will stay up all day. However, if I connect to the same remote computer over ipv6 the connection will drop after about an hour. Connections using ipv6 did not drop before installing Orbi hardware.
What could be the problem. Orbi firmware V4.6.14.3_2.3.12

I've seen reports of issues with ipv6 and xfinity on multiple devices. Not just the orbi.
I used a pihole and my ipv6 seems to be more stable (with ipv6 changed in orbi/pihole).
You don't need ipv6 enabled. It should still work fine with just ipv4 working.

I don't understand how using a pihole changes anything? I've pihole running on a mostly idle 3B+ providing DNS to my local net. Works well for what it does.
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended. How is IPv6 configured on the RBR?
Try configuring 6RD.
Seen other issues stemming from the ISP side where the connection is dropped from there. The ISP needs to ensure ALL services and signals UP to the modem is working well. Have them check to see if they see when this happens on there side of the modem. They can tell.
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch with a wired PC and web browser. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

I would power OFF the ISP modem for 1 minute. Factory reset the Orbi router and power it off. Power ON the ISP modem and let it sync. Then power ON the Orbi router and walk thru the setup wizard again using a wired PC and a web browser.
Press the back reset button for 15 seconds then release.

You might test the Airport to see if that's still true. Xfinity has been doing network upgrades lately that have been very disruptive for us. We had some odd issues with IPv6 causing disconnects and router reboots and self-configuring to 6to4 randomly (on the 960, 850 was solid). I Googled around for Xfinity IPv6 issues, and a number of people were complaining about IPv6 short lease times (an hour) causing issues. Normally the lease times apparently are supposed to be longer, but for various reasons like maintenance, they can be shortened. Just an anecdote from the Internet, so there's that.
Since a week ago, I got new 960 beta firmware and the disconnects and reboots and 6to4 auto-config seem solved. Now the 960 behaves as well as the 850 did, but our Xfinity network is still very inconsistent as their work continues. I have not tested any robustness of IPv6 though during any of this.
You may have to test for at least a day - most of the things we tried to solve issues - and there were many - were red herrings and the issue popped back up within a day. The beta firmware has been good for more than a week, so almost certainly no red herring there.

Alas, I no longer have the AirPort to test. Probably should have kept it.
Yeah, it could be an Xfinity issue. I need to re-learn how ipv6 addresses are assigned. The delegated /64 assigned to the router does change once in a while, but that is rare.
I can't ping the 850's ipv6 WAN address. Don't know if that is because Xfininity isn't delivering the packets or the 850 doesn't respond to pings.
So much to learn.
