RBR850 Wired Backhaul keeps switching from Wired to Wireless

Howdy y’all. I have an Orbi RBR850 with 2 wired RBS850 and 1 wireless RBS750 satellites. All satellites work but one of them seems to randomly switch from wired to wireless mode randomly. I’m assuming that’s what is happening based on my pfsense logs. The Mac switches back and forth. The max ending in A7 is the wired MAC according to the Orbi pages. All firmware is upgraded. Any suggestions?

  • What is the model# of the ethernet switch in the configuration?

What Cat# cables are you using? CAT6 is recommended.

Only a couple of factors that would cause this, some switches can be problematic. Some Green Ethernet featured switches, cable inbetween the RBR and RBS is not good, connections are bad on the cables or there maybe a bad patch panel in the mix.

Switch - Netgear GS108 Gigabit Switch

      Cable - Cat6E

No other switch/patch panel in between the connection to this specific saltellite.  I can double check my ends and make sure they're good.

I doublechecked and ran a tester on my ends, they seem to be Good to Go.

I went ahead and removed the switch from the equation and using the ethernet from the RBR850 direct to the RBS850 in question.  We'll see what happens.
