Re: RBR850 can not connect to some websites over ethernet
Hey guys
I recently bought an RBR850 router and an RBS850 satellite
I created a wired backhaul between them and connected all my devices. At first everything worked fine but then I decided to connect my imac via ethernet. After that, I found that when connected via lan cable, some sites do not work! Everything looks like my internet is down.
First of all, I checked the DNS servers. I prefer to use DNS from google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 But they were ok. I configured DNS provider but the problem was not solved.
I thought that the problem might be in netgear armor and disabled this feature and rebooted the router. But the problem didn't go away.
When I connect via wifi everything works fine. But as soon as I connect via ethernet, some sites become unavailable.
I'm lost. Tell me, please, what could be the problem?
I'll admit I'm a little disappointed. With my old cheap router, I never experienced such problems. Instead of working, I have to deal with it.
Thank you!

Guys, just look at this screenshot.
But if I connect a VPN connection, then everything works fine!

More detail, please. Is it correct to interpret this as:
- The problem is restricted only to some web sites, or
- The problem appears to be some internet URLs not resolving into IP addresses?
While other internet activities function normally. (other web sites, email, ICMP (Ping), video streaming, etc.)
Can you please check the Advanced Tab, Security Menu and see if there is an entry in the Block Sites table?

Hi,
thanks for your answer.
I checked the blocked sites and it's empty.
I'm not sure what the real problem is.
When I try to access the site, I get a message from the browserhmm. We're having trouble finding that site.
If you entered the right address, you can:
Try again later
Check your network connection
Check that Firefox has permission to access the web (you might be connected but behind a firewall)(This happens in all browsers)
Just crazy.
- Connect using WiFi, web browsesr load the site.
- Connect using Ethernet, web browsers all cannot find the site.
On Windows, the WiFi adapter and Ethernet adapters have separate settings for how they determine DNS servers.
(using DHCP to be told which server to use - which is usually the gateway router {Orbi}) or
DNS servers defined by IP address.
Does it work the same way on Mac?
