Resetting Orbi RBR 750 and RBS750 satellites to factory default

Good morning!  I recently upgraded my Orbi system to an Orbi 770 Series Tri-Band WiFi 7 Mesh System, 11Gbps, 3-Pack (RBE773) and would like to reset the old RBR 750 router and satellites to factory defaults and then donate them to a business that distributes used equipment to needy individuals.

Can anyone help me please?  My biggest question is, do I need to have the router (RBR750) and satellites (RBS750s) plugged into my internet connection from my fiber optic connection, or can I do it without connecting it, just plugged into power?

I don't want to temporarily disable my current new router and satellites.

I'd like to set it back to factory defaults, and presume that once I do this, the router will reset to the default login and password that it came with initially.  When installing that older router, I'd used a previous login and password so that I didn't have to re-pair all my devices.

I also believe that I would have to reset the satellites as well, am I correct?

Thank you for any advice and assistance in this matter!

Ted

  • You don't have to hook them back up to your network. Simply push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while powered on.

I'd do it to all of them just to CYA but usually if you reset the router and the satellites were connected, they reset too. But again, it doesn't take much time.

Once its done, simply look at the wifi broadcasting and if it matches the default ssid, it reset correctly.

    Hello gr8campr,

    Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!

i understand that your would like to factory reset your RBR750 due to upgrading your system to the RBE771. A factory reset can be done without connecting to the internet. As suggested by plemans, simply hold the reset button for about 30 seconds.

To successfully Factory reset your RBR750 please watch the video embedded in the link below:
