Router sees one account but not the other

RBR850 with two satellites. The base can’t see Account A. But it can see Account B. One of the satellites can see Account A. Account A is my private account. Account B is my guest account. My desktop is hardwired into the base module and it has no internet connection. Desk top uses Account A.

  • I have since restored the router and started over. Everything is back running as before yet I'm concerned about a few things including why did my hardwired desktop office computer loose its internet connection? And what caused all the blocking and unblocking? I was blocked from gaining access to the management app on my desktop.  Is the firmware unstable or am I doing something wrong? Since I'm going through the set-up process again I have a bunch of questions but I'll add a separate topic for this.

  • I’ll try to explain better. I have a RBR850 router on the top floor with two satellites that are hard wired to the router and are located on different floors. The router is in my office. My desktop computer is hardwired to the router. This morning my desktop had no internet connection. I have two networks - a private and one for guests. The desktop will not connect to either one of these. I can connect my cell phone via WIFI to the guest network but it won’t connect to the private network. We have an iPad on another floor that will connect to the private network. 

    I have tried rebooting everything every which way. 

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Netgear Orbi routers have up to three networks:

     

    • The primary network consists of devices which are physically 'wired' to the router or satellites or which connect to the primary WiFi SSID.  Any device which is 'wired' can connect only to this primary network.
    • An optional Guest WiFi network, with a separate WiFi SSID/password.  No 'wired' device can connect to the Guest WiFi network.  Any device connected to the Guest WiFi network cannot interact with anything on the primary network.
    • An optional Internet of Things (IoT) WiFi network, with a separate WiFi SSID/password.  Devices connected to the IoT WiFi network are able to communicate with devices on the primary network, but not with anything connected to the Guest WiFi network.

    How is this Orbi system being managed?  (web interface or Orbi 'app'?)

       So last night late, things went from bad to worse. To answer how my system is being managed? On my office computer I installed an application that uses http://192.185.1.1and a password to get into. 

      I also have a ap one my phone which has less points of control (if any).  So to correct some verbage.  I have primary network and a guest network. My hardwired desk computer was not able to see either the primary or guest networks. And I could not access the management app on the desktop because the network had things blocked. 

       

      Using a laptop (that for whatever reason could connect to my primary network) I was able to get into the management app. I found two devices that were blocked - one being the desktop. I could not see this management app from my desktop as when I tried I got a very bold note saying access denied as it was blocked by the router. Once I got into the mgmt app on the lap top I attempted to 'allow' the two blocked devices. I'd "check" the device, then click allow and their status would change. And then, seemingly, randomly, the would revert to being blocked again. Then random devices became blocked.  At one point, every device was blocked. And as it stands now it appears every device is blocked and I can't log on using the primary or guest networks using the laptop or a phone or anything. I have since bypassed the network and am using my desk computer plugged directly into the modem. 

       

      I'm on Window 10.  This C&P is with my desktop plugged into the modem.
