WiFi Mesh (RBKE963B) And Forcing 2.4 GHz connection

I Own The Orbi Mesh WiFi 6E System - AXE11000 - 3 pack - Black (RBKE963B). The Smart Lock (Ultraloq U-Bolt Pro) that I purchased specifies that it needs a 2.4 gigahertz (GHz) connection.  Sometimes there Is difficulty connecting to the router. Is there any way to always force a 2.4 GHz at all times?

Your smart lock can only connect to 2.4Ghz so the fact that your Orbi AXE router *also* transmits 5Ghz will not be a problem nor cause connectivity difficulty.  Some IoT devices have problems with Mesh routers because their phone setup app requires that the phone be connected via 2.4Ghz, but phones usually connect via 5Ghz instead.  After successful setup, the IoT device has no problem connecting to the Orbi 2.4Ghz network.

Your AXE router has a separate IoT wireless network which you can setup to only transmit 2.4Ghz.  In the Wireless Setup section, enable the IoT network and check only "2.4Ghz only".  You have to pick a different SSID for this network and configure your IoT devices to connect only to this network.

If you still have problems, disabling AX for 2.4Ghz also affects this network.  Try disabling AX mode for your 2.4Ghz wireless to improve compatibility with older devices.

    1. Go to the web admin portal at http://orbilogin.com/
    2. Click to the Advanced tab / Setup / Wireless Setup
    3. Under Enable AX, uncheck "Enable 2.4 GHz"
    4. Press Apply

Mikey94025 is correct.  The device has only a 2.4G WiFi radio chip.  It cannot detect, nor connect to any other frequency. (not AM radio. not FM radio. not cell phone towers..... and not 5G WiFi.)

Difficulty connecting implies that the lock was successfully set up using the smartphone app.  i.e. it recognized and connected to the Orbi WiFi.  Is that correct?  Can you please provide more details about the problem?
